After weeks of high-voltage clashes, last-over thrillers, and nonstop drama, the IPL 2026 playoffs lineup is finally locked in. Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Gujarat Titans, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Rajasthan Royals have booked their place in the knockout stage — but the big question now is: who looks strongest heading into the title race?

RCB enter the playoffs as arguably the most complete side this season. From Virat Kohli’s consistency at the top to explosive support from Phil Salt, Rajat Patidar, and Tim David, Bengaluru’s batting lineup has looked dangerous in almost every game. Their bowling attack, led by Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, has also delivered under pressure, making RCB one of the toughest teams to beat.

Sunrisers Hyderabad, meanwhile, have been the most fearless batting side of the tournament. Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan, and Heinrich Klaasen have turned matches upside down with their aggressive approach. Add Pat Cummins’ leadership and some surprise bowling stars into the mix, and SRH suddenly look like a team nobody wants to face in a knockout game.

Gujarat Titans have quietly built one of the most balanced campaigns of the season. Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan dominated the run charts, while bowlers like Mohammed Siraj, Rashid Khan, and Kagiso Rabada kept opponents under constant pressure. Their biggest strength has been consistency — but questions still remain about how their middle order will react in crunch situations.

Then there’s Rajasthan Royals, the team that refused to give up. RR had an up-and-down season but found momentum at the perfect time. Young stars like Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal stepped up, while Jofra Archer’s return to form has given the bowling unit a huge boost. Though they may look slightly vulnerable on paper, Rajasthan have already shown they can surprise stronger opponents when it matters most.

With all four teams carrying different strengths, the IPL playoffs promise edge-of-the-seat cricket over the next few days. One mistake, one magical innings, or one brilliant spell could decide who lifts the trophy on May 31.
