A scenic stretch near the Jharkhand-Odisha border may soon emerge as one of the region’s newest tourist hotspots. Nestled amid lush forests and rolling natural landscapes, the picturesque Tiring Valley near Jamshedpur is now being considered for major tourism development, bringing excitement among locals and nature lovers alike.
During a recent visit to the Kali Mandir area in Bankata village, located along the Hata-Tiring main road under the Potka constituency, Potka MLA Sanjeev Sardar inspected the area and discussed plans to transform the valley into a well-developed tourist destination.
Known for its peaceful surroundings and breathtaking greenery, Tiring Valley already attracts thousands of visitors, especially picnickers from both Jharkhand and Odisha every year. With its location just 100 meters from the state border, the area has long remained a hidden gem for travelers seeking a quick escape into nature.
Speaking during the inspection, the MLA said a formal proposal will soon be sent to the Forest Department to begin structured development work. The aim is not only to promote tourism but also to create fresh economic opportunities for local communities living in nearby border villages.
Under the proposed plan, the valley could see the development of picnic zones, children’s play areas, seating spaces, and other family-friendly facilities while preserving the region’s natural beauty. Officials believe the project could turn the area into a preferred weekend getaway for families from both states.
The development is also expected to generate employment opportunities for local youth and benefit small businesses such as tea stalls, eateries, transport operators, and local artisans. Residents are hopeful that increased tourist footfall could provide a significant boost to the rural economy.
What makes Tiring Valley special is not just its natural charm, but also the cultural and social bond shared by people living on both sides of the Jharkhand-Odisha border. Leaders believe the project can strengthen regional tourism while offering visitors a safe and refreshing destination close to nature.
If approved, Tiring Valley could soon become one of the most talked-about eco-tourism destinations near Jamshedpur — blending scenic beauty, local culture, and rural development into one promising attraction.
